I was taking my mom doing the horse carriage ride in the Central Park Saturday afternoon and feeling some dull abdominal pain. I didnt think its the sign of labor since I was expecting the slowly building up contraction frequency that could last for 12+ hours for first time mom. I thought it might be the green tea fappuccino which was causing it. But the discomfort didn’t go away and I decided to check in the hospital around 10pm. As soon as I changed the cloth for doctor to inspect to decide if I stay in or go home, my water break and I was getting one contraction every 2 minutes!!!! The sharp pain on top of the dull pain isn’t manageable.The body was shacking because of the sudden pain. They sent me in the labor delivery room right away. It was so painful that made me think about how people would feel when they are dying in the end of life. It is not possible for me to do it without pain relieve while I planned try not to have before.

It took them a while to get epidural in place. They need to send blood test to the lab etc. Epidural helps to reduce the pain to the manageable level but still pretty painful. The doctor initially told me it will be around 9-10 o’clock but my little roro was born at 4:23 am Sunday morning June 23 2013, Rowan was born in Flushing Hospital.
